Borders

Our work on borders challenges sovereign borders through various investigations into the ways that borders are resisted and remade by those with lived experiences of them. This work is political and poetic, exploring what means to be from and live on the border(lands), and the cultural and mythological dimensions of this across different times and places. The art and spatial research of ‘Eile’ is our most longstanding border project, using site-responsive performance, sounds, film and writing from which we developed the concept of Border-Fictioning’. We are also working on a counter-cartography of community actions to remove the imposed border in Ireland during the “Troubles” (1968-1998), working with border activists and archival material.
