a place of their own is the art + spatial research practice of Paula McCloskey and Sam Vardy. Through art and spatial practice, we interrogate and propose within entanglements of climate, capital, technology and politics. We operate as a collective, a couple, with our children, and through collaborations with others.

Eile Project at 'Talking Towns' seminar, Centre for Irish Towns, UCD, Dublin, 03/03/22

Lunchtime seminar with Caroline Creamer (Maynooth University) and Killian Doherty (University of Edinburgh)

We will discuss some of the transdiscplinary methodoligies and practices that we have adopted in the Eile Project in border towns such as Belleek, Clones and Pettigo, as well as our research on counter-cartographies of community resistance to the border in the 1980s and 90’s.

Talking Towns is a new seminar series organised by UCD Centre for Irish Towns and UCD Earth Institute. The series aims to spark conversations about the challenges facing Irish towns, the opportunities they offer, and the role of research and policy in bringing about the revitalisation of towns in Ireland.
